Council moves to closed session to continue negotiations on Argus Apartments affordable housing project

The Verona Common Council on Aug. 25 moved into a closed session to continue negotiations on the development agreement for the Argus Apartments affordable housing project.
Alderperson Swanson moved that the council convene in closed session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(e) to deliberate or negotiate the purchase of public properties and for bargaining reasons. Alderperson Keller seconded. The roll-call motion passed unanimously. Council returned to open session later and the city administrator said there was nothing additional to report in open session beyond that negotiations are ongoing and that the council expects future news.
No open-session action was taken on the Argus Apartments item; the council signaled continued negotiation in closed session.
