Summary
Trustees approved a $42,213 purchase and installation of a Shure wireless microphone system for the boardroom, a $6,520 sidewalk repair contract and $14,760.70 to replace attic insulation at the police station; capital budget funds were identified to cover the AV purchase.
The board voted to approve three capital items: replacement of the boardroom wired microphones with a wireless system, sidewalk repairs at the police department, and attic-insulation work at the police station.
Director Vasquez presented an updated $42,213 quote from Forte (formerly AVI) for a 2025-model Shure wireless microphone system for 16 microphones and associated chargers and integration with the village’s Crestron system. "We think by having a wireless microphone system in place, we can help ensure that the room is versatile for a variety of groups and residents," Director Vasquez said. Trustees accepted staff’s recommendation and approved the proposal.
The board also approved Stuckey Construction’s $6,520 proposal to repair two sections of cracked sidewalk at the police building. Director Wiggs told the board competitive pricing was sought previously and Stuckey’s bid was substantially lower than others obtained during a separate Broadway program solicitation.
Trustees then approved SE Inc.’s $14,760.70 proposal to remove and reinstall insulation above the police station first-floor ceiling. Director Witt described deteriorated and fallen insulation in the attic spaces, uneven installation of support elements during original construction and the need to resecure and add blown insulation to improve working conditions and energy performance.
All three items passed on roll-call votes. Trustees asked about equipment life expectancy for the wireless microphones and were told the lifecycle would likely exceed five years but could vary depending on technology changes. The capital funds budget was reported to have capacity for the AV purchase in 2025.
