The Verona Common Council on Aug. 25 approved a public improvements agreement for the Arden Glen development requiring the developer to construct a water loop and associated mains connecting to City Well No. 5.
Under the agreement the developer will build approximately 2,675 feet of 12- and 16-inch water main, fund all design and construction costs, provide a surety bond at 120% of the project cost to guarantee completion, and finish the work within 18 months. The city will oversee the work through plan approvals and inspections; upon acceptance the city will reimburse the developer for a portion of construction cost, accept dedication of the facilities and require a one-year guarantee period from the developer.
Alderperson Tucker Long moved approval, subject to final review by the city administrator and city attorney; Alderperson Keller seconded. Council members voted to approve the agreement.
