The board approved Policy 35-50P with two changes: a reference cleanup for the policy section on removal of students during the school day (removing an erroneous suffix) and clarifying that other agencies must present a court order rather than administrative direction for student removal. The board also directed staff to correct a global search-and-replace error in Policy 72-15 (where an automated replacement had incorrectly substituted "superintendent" for occurrences that should have remained "principal"), and to ensure the posted version uses the updated fund-balance calculation adopted two years ago (three-year average reserve calculation).
In Policy 72-40 the board agreed to replace the term "Indian" with "Native American" in all references. And in Policy 7500 the board clarified wording so that fee increases "of 5% or less" are handled in one manner and increases "greater than 5%" follow the public-notice/special-meeting provision; the amendment removes ambiguity about a 4.5% change.
Board members asked staff to ensure that all corrected policies are the most recent versions and posted publicly. Motions to adopt the revised policies and the wording changes were approved by voice votes.
