District reports enrollment drop, board approves Wyoming tuition agreement and L-2 levy certification

On tax certification, Diane walked trustees through the L-2 worksheet that calculates property taxes to be levied. The board certified levies including a $500,000 school facility plan levy, a supplemental levy and a 2018 bond series; Diane said Idaho's state property tax relief initiative increased from about $996,000 last year to approximately $1.7 million this year, reducing the district's levy burden. The board voted to approve the L-2 as presented.
Discussion and next steps: trustees asked for clarification on enrollment counts and asked staff to amend and resubmit the Wyoming tuition paperwork to include pre-K and to monitor funding changes as the district seeks to balance services amid falling enrollment. Diane said she would update the tuition agreement and supply corrected enrollment figures.
