BROCKTON, Mass. — The Brockton School Committee moved into executive session at the Aug. 5 special meeting to discuss strategy regarding collective bargaining and litigation.
The chair read the executive‑session citation into the record: Massachusetts General Laws chapter 30A, section 21(a)(3), allowing a public body to discuss strategy with respect to collective bargaining or litigation when an open meeting could harm the public body’s position. The chair listed the matters to be discussed as updates on litigation and collective bargaining with BEA, BESPA, Teamsters, IBAA and TEA.
Vice Chairman Rodriguez made the motion to go into executive session; the motion was seconded and the committee approved the move by roll call. The chair announced the committee would not return to open session and the meeting adjourned into executive session.
Ending: The committee left the public meeting to conduct confidential bargaining and litigation strategy and did not reconvene an open‑session meeting afterward.
