The Round Lake Area Board of Education voted on Sept. 8 to approve a $21,300 contract with Solution Tree to provide embedded coaching at the district's secondary schools, with the cost budgeted to the FY26 teacher vacancy grant. A district presenter described embedded coaching as on-site work with department chairs and building administrators to help implement a professional learning community (PLC) reset that secondary schools began last year. The presenter said staff found last year's coaching helpful and requested three days of on-site support this year, one day at each secondary school. The contract was reviewed at the finance committee, and a board member confirmed the expenditure is grant-funded. The board voted to approve the contract: motion by Miss Klingler, second by Mr. Jewett; roll call reflected approval from all present members and the motion carried. Staff said the embedded coaching is a targeted, school-level support focused on secondary PLCs; elementary support may be considered later after the elementary curriculum work is further along.
