The Round Lake Area Board of Education voted unanimously on Sept. 8 to approve the district's 2025-26 school improvement plans, a step staff said is required to access certain grant funding for schools designated as targeted or comprehensive. A district staff member identified in the agenda as presenting the school improvement plans explained the documents represent year two of three-year continuous improvement plans the buildings developed with their leadership teams. "Once board approval is secured, the school improvement plans can be uploaded, and our tentatively approved grant will be fully approved," the presenter said. Board members praised the structure and detail of the plans. The presenter and other staff described the template as consistent across buildings, enabling quarterly data reviews, comparison of strategies between buildings and the setting of three-year SMART goals broken into annual targets and associated action steps. The board took a formal motion to approve the plans: motion by Miss Klingler, second by Miss Lee; the roll call showed all present members voting "yes" and the motion carried. Staff said approval allows the district to upload the plans and move forward on the related grant approval process.
