The Suffolk County Planning and Zoning Board continued review of the Park Chapel Church site plan because Commissioner Hilton recused himself, leaving the board without a quorum and preventing action. Chairman Fallon said the item must be carried to the next meeting.

Chairman Fallon told the board that, because of the recusal and the resulting lack of quorum, the board could not proceed with the site-plan review and that the matter would be continued. He said no formal motion was required in that situation and the item would appear on the next agenda. The board provided no substantive discussion or vote on the merits of the site plan at the meeting.

At the same meeting the board combined consideration of proposed subdivision ordinance amendments with zoning ordinance amendments and said the two items will be covered in a planning work session scheduled for the following day. The work session, the board said, will allow commissioners to review language and ask staff questions before the formal hearing is continued.

The board did not adopt new rules or conditions for the Park Chapel Church site plan at this meeting because of the recusal and lack of quorum; further consideration will occur at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
