The Upson County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 26 authorized the county manager to execute the construction contract for the FS Scarborough lift‑station replacement once staff and the county attorney complete a review of final contract language. The item had been pulled from the consent agenda for discussion while staff completed adjustments to an AIA contract form. County staff said the price of the contract would not change and that the adjustments were wording clarifications. Commissioners moved to allow the county manager to sign the contract as soon as the contractor and county attorney concurred and the county manager confirmed the money and scope were unchanged. The motion passed unanimously. Staff said execution would allow the contractor to begin work without waiting for the next board meeting.
