The superintendent explained that federal equitable funds require the district to provide a stipend mechanism for private-school employees who participate in district professional development. “Part of our annual thing, they give us a list of who their employees are that would might be attending that professional development and receiving a stipend… So this is the authorization for us to pay them the stipend for professional development,” the superintendent said. The superintendent said the stipend rate is $35 per hour, consistent with district practice for county employees.
Board members moved and seconded the consent items by voice vote; motions carried. The board also approved preschool contracts at a cost of $2,250 per student for 2025–2026 and accepted preschool meal contracts that administrators estimated at about $55,080 for each listed provider.
