Community baseball group asks Harrison County Schools to help install new scoreboard and power at RCP field

"We are asking for help with the installation, putting up the post, the steel beams to move that scoreboard over the right center field," Marr said, and added the requested move is intended to reduce glare and improve spectator visibility.
Board members and staff guided the group to follow standard school procedures for upgrades. One board member noted, "Generally, anytime we do upgrades to a school, it usually goes to the school administrator, and then it comes to our purchasing office so we can make sure that it's spec'd and everything is correct." The boosters said they had shared letters with school leaders and planned to provide a spec sheet and quote to the principal and to county purchasing.
Other improvements Marr listed included extending the backstop by 18 feet and finishing drainage and hydroseeding; the group said parents will maintain watering while the new turf establishes. No formal funding or procurement action was taken at the meeting; board members suggested staff and the school principal facilitate the purchasing and installation review.
