The Monongalia County Board of Education moved to appoint an audit committee consistent with its three-year rotation and typical composition: the superintendent, a board member (traditionally the board president) and the treasurer.

The superintendent recommended that the audit committee consist of the superintendent, Mr. Kelly (board member) and treasurer Nicole Kemper. The board moved and seconded the recommendation; because one board member briefly left the room at the time of the vote, the board waited and then conducted a voice vote when quorum returned. Members voted in favor and the motion carried.

The committee will fulfill the board's routine audit oversight responsibilities; the board did not discuss audit vendors or scope at the meeting.
