Wastewater staff report monthly flows, equipment failures and planned purchases

Wastewater operations staff reported that in July the system treated approximately 255,000,000 gallons of wastewater and received an additional 235,225 gallons in septic receipts recorded in the meeting remarks. Staff reported $10,499 in related revenue for the period and said tank inspections and clarifier work are ongoing. Operations staff described a significant equipment problem: the belt-press hydraulics failed and a temporary repair is in place while two hydraulic tension cylinders were ordered; staff said the combined cost for the parts was $5,178. Staff also said a scotometer unit was ordered for $3,425. They reported ongoing sewer-call responses (about 25 sewer calls) and said Snyder Environmental will meet staff between 9:30 and 10 a.m. the following day to discuss a line on Fifteenth Street in Northview. Planned purchases noted in the report included ordering a new dump truck for the sewer department and awarding nine combined sewer overflow (CSO) monitors; staff described those as the two main purchases for the month.
