The motion to approve the preliminary declaratory resolution was made by Councilman Rick Ring and seconded by Councilman Bill Van White; the chair called the question and the motion carried. This is just the approving the declaratory, resolution for the creation of an economic revitalization area,” the chair said during the meeting.
Council members were advised that after the declaratory resolution is adopted a public hearing will be scheduled at the next council meeting, at which time the council will either confirm or deny the abatement request. No abatement was approved on May 14; the formal abatement decision will follow the public hearing and any additional required findings or documentation.
