Northwest ISD board approves TASB policy update, endorses advocacy agenda item to oppose vouchers and endorses Region 11 candidate

The board approved TASB Board Policy Update 124 on second reading as recommended by TASB and administration, with a motion by Dr. Rausch and a second by Miss Hatfield; the motion passed 7-0.
Separately, the board approved a resolution updating the TASB 2024–26 advocacy agenda. Administration highlighted a proposed advocacy item that would oppose state voucher programs and seek their repeal. "We objected to them before they passed, and now we would like to advocate that they repeal vouchers," a staff presenter told the board, which approved the resolution by motion of Mr. Schluter and second by Miss Kopp (7-0).
The board also voted to endorse Julie Cole of Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD for the TASB board of directors, Region 11 position A (motion by Mr. Sproles, second by Dr. Rausch; vote 7-0).
