"We actually saw this exercise in real world, with the Green Canyon Fire, which was a great response. It was organized," a staff member said in support.
Councilmember Ernesto moved to adopt the ordinance (the meeting record shows a motion and a second), and the council approved the ordinance by roll-call vote with all members recorded as aye. Staff said adopting NIMS will help the city access communications resources, improve the emergency operations center and support interagency coordination.
Ending: With the ordinance adopted, Logan City becomes explicitly compliant with NIMS and better positioned to apply for certain federal and state preparedness grants.
