At its Aug. 12 meeting the Kankakee County Board approved the claims committee report recommending payment of $9,651,085.01 for June 2025 and accepted several department monthly reports, including the treasurer, recorder, county clerk, coroner and circuit clerk.
Treasurer's report (month ending June 2025) recorded balances: tax account at Midland States Bank $84,371,252.47; tax operating account at First American Bank $470,240.02; tax e-pay account at First American Bank $10,111,196.32; special fund sweeps account at First American Bank $14,396,913.40. The recapitulation of collector's accounts showed total cash and banking investments of $109,349,602.21.
Other reports read into the record: recorder disbursement fees paid to county treasurer $179,817.57; county clerk monthly receipts $28,837.10 for June; coroner monthly activity—104 total calls, 11 coroner cases, 6 autopsies, 6 toxicology tests, 4 donations, 1 indigent case, 4 fetal cases, 43 hospice, 45 referrals, 65 cremations and 7 pending; coroner income $2,278. Circuit clerk disbursement totaling $316,770.41; animal control revenue $37,728 and 99 animals handled.
The board combined these items on the consent and claims agenda and approved them by voice and roll-call votes where recorded.
