Weber County approves consent items including $1.19 million in warrants and $129,928 in purchase orders

County staff member Ricky Hatch summarized the purchases and warrants. He said 11 purchase orders totaled about $130,000, with roughly $61,000 (about 47%) for the jail for CSI evidence room improvements; $29,000 (about 23%) for the library to purchase software; $17,000 (about 13%) for the IT department for desktops and computer equipment; and about $10,000 (about 8%) for the roads department for repairs and parts. Hatch said 149 warrants totaled about $1.2 million, with roughly $550,000 (about 46%) for the transfer station (mostly disposal fees); $102,000 (about 9%) for the jail (food, training and building maintenance); $91,000 (about 8%) for the library (books, materials, utilities, building maintenance and software); and two items at about $70,000 each for property management and the roads department for supplies and fuel.
Hatch also listed the top five vendors paid this week: Republic Services ($532,000); the State of Utah ($71,000, mostly fuel purchases through the state system); Wheeler Machinery Company ($65,000); Elior Incorporated ($58,000); and Molding and Sons Landfill ($46,000).
The commission also approved a request from the Weber County Tax Review Committee to refund $231.98 on Parcel 40-305-0520, identified in the meeting as a state-assessed property and processed under state code 59-2-1321 and county code section 2-11-7; the recommendation was to refund taxes paid from 2001 to 2024. The commission approved a facility agreement allowing the Weber County Republican Party to hold meetings at the Weber Center for 2025-26, and a sponsorship agreement with MTN ops LLC to place branded non-permanent signs in archery classrooms; the sponsorship agreement permits sponsor employees to use the range during business hours at no charge up to 25 times per month.
A motion to approve the consent items was made and seconded and the commission voted in favor. The meeting record shows no commissioners asked questions beyond the staff summary.
