Weber County commissioners approve renaming of Babylus Lane to Spring Creek Lane

The ordinance change was presented by Steve Collier, who said he had obtained letters from the landowners and asked the commission to proceed. “We are, again, just doing the second reading to have this private lane name changed again from Babalus Lane to Spring Creek Lane, keeping the coordinate value the same,” Collier said.
County staff told commissioners that four parcels front the lane; two of those parcels share an owner, and Collier said he had three signatures representing the affected frontage. The commission recorded a roll-call vote and approved the ordinance. During the roll call, the transcript records Commissioner Ford voting “Aye,” Commissioner Hart voting “Aye,” and Chair Boleness indicating “Aye.” The motion carried.
The ordinance keeps the lane's coordinate values unchanged and applies only to the specified private lane and the properties contiguous to it. The county did not detail any required next steps for signage or addressing mapping databases during the meeting.
The action was taken under the county's regular land/road naming procedures and followed the submission of written requests from property owners contiguous to the lane.
