Commissioners appoint David F. Ratchford to three Snowbasin-area special-district boards

The Weber County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 26 approved three resolutions appointing David F. Ratchford to fill vacant trustee seats on special districts that serve the Snowbasin area.
Stacy Skeen, a county official who presented the item, told commissioners, "With these districts located in the Snowbasin area, it is recommended that you approve David Ratchford to fill the remaining position for Jim Hill who has retired." She said Ratchford would fill the Mount Ogden Public Infrastructure District seat through Dec. 31, 2027, and the Trappers Loop Water Improvement District and Wheeler Basin Services District seats through Dec. 31, 2025, completing midterm terms created by the retirement.
Commissioners handled each resolution individually. The board approved Resolution 36-2025 appointing Ratchford to the Mount Ogden Public Infrastructure Districts 1, 2 and 3, Resolution 37-2025 appointing him to the Trappers Loop Water Improvement District, and Resolution 38-2025 appointing him to the Wheeler Basin Services District. Roll-call votes were recorded as aye for the commissioners present and each motion carried.
Skeen also noted an additional, separate vacancy on the Mount Ogden Public Infrastructure District resulting from the resignation of Adam Suess; the county has received one application for that seat but was awaiting voter-verification steps until elections were certified. Commissioners instructed staff to return with the verified application when ready.
The appointments were administrative actions to fill trustee slots on local service districts; no additional policy changes, budgetary measures or contested hearings were recorded during the presentations.
