Northwest ISD names three principals, approves personnel contracts

The Northwest ISD Board of Trustees approved recommendations to name three new principals and approved a set of personnel contracts and administrative updates.

At the meeting, district staff presented recommendations and the board voted to name Dr. Daryl Porter as principal of Northwest High School, Jeremy Harris as principal of Leo Adams Middle School, and Jeff Dixon as principal of Jean Pike Middle School. The board approved the appointments by motion and voice vote after staff presented each candidate.

Separately, the board voted to approve a package of personnel contracts, described on the record as including reorganizations, administrative signing authority changes, contract extensions, hirings, renewals and resignations. The board’s motion approved the personnel contracts as submitted and recommended by the administration.

All personnel items were handled during the meeting as agenda item 9 (subitems a–d). The motions were made and seconded by board members during the meeting and recorded in the audio transcript; the board’s public votes were affirmative on the listed items. No recorded motion amendments were proposed during the public session. The actions finalize administrative assignments for the coming school year; implementation (employment paperwork, onboarding and contract execution) will be handled by the district’s human resources and executive leadership teams as part of regular personnel operations.
