Board finds late resignations lacked good cause and authorizes complaint to State Board for Educator Certification

The motion, made by Trustee Schluter and seconded by Trustee Kopp, listed the employees by name: Nicole Bernat, Sarah Titus, Andy Wallace, Megan Davis and Chanel Perez. The board’s motion concluded that the district did not consent to the resignations and authorized the superintendent to proceed with a complaint to the State Board for Educator Certification in accordance with Section 21.21(c) of the Texas Education Code.
Trustees voted unanimously to approve the motion. Administration did not discuss individual personnel facts on the public record beyond the motion; the board's action was taken in open session after any closed‑session consideration that occurred earlier in the meeting.
The authorization empowers the superintendent to pursue certification sanctions under state procedures if the State Board accepts the complaint and determines disciplinary action is warranted.
