Acting City Manager Deb Allen credited city crews for responding to localized flooding and announced two public surveys on park improvements, then said she signed an administrative order limiting hours at several city parks to 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Allen thanked the Department of Public Services and Parks staff—naming Frank Detturi, Chris Weber, Matt Redke, Craig New, Mike Conlon, John Fall and Drew Sailor—for their response to displaced manhole covers and downed branches after heavy rainfall. She said there were no incidents requiring a strategic deployment of the Department of Municipal Utilities.
Allen also said the city launched surveys tied to the City Park improvements, idea-generation work for the Brown Bridge Trust Fund and the Parks and Recreation five-year master plan, and encouraged residents to find links on the city's website.
On park rules, Allen said, “I signed an administrative order this past week to limit park hours from 7AM to 11PM at several of the city's parks, including Hall Park, to address issues with overnight activity.” The administrative order was described as an internal action taken by the acting manager; no ordinance or council vote was recorded in the transcript for the change.
There was no public comment at the meeting on the announcements. Commissioners accepted the report and moved on to the main agenda item concerning the separation agreement and interim management.
