Traverse City Planning Commission elects officers for 2025

At its Jan. 7 regular meeting the Traverse City Planning Commission elected Debbie Hershey chair, Anna Daturi vice chair and Shay O’Brien secretary; each was chosen by a unanimous ballot.
The Traverse City Planning Commission elected Commissioner Debbie Hershey chair, Commissioner Anna Daturi vice chair and Commissioner Shay O’Brien secretary at its Jan. 7, 2025 regular meeting.
The commission opened nominations for each office, accepted the nominees and closed nominations by unanimous ballot, with the motions carried and the officers seated immediately.
The election followed the commission’s standard nomination process. Staff said the result takes effect immediately and any future vacancy would be filled at the next meeting after appointments by the City Commission are finalized.
The newly elected officers are expected to serve in those roles while the commission proceeds with its scheduled business for 2025, including a bylaw review, study-session items and annual goals.
