Recreation Commission lists fall events: Paint the Town Red, Harvest Fest, senior luncheon and Halloween activities

"We're gonna start with paint the town red, which is Friday, October 10 on Macomb Street. Starts at 4 in the afternoon," the chairperson said, announcing the kickoff event that will include business decorating contests, vendors, live music and crafts at Lions Park.
The senior luncheon is scheduled for Oct. 8 at Centennial Farms from noon to 2 p.m.; event staff said lunch, bingo and a Halloween costume contest are included and that attendees should pre‑register at grosiorecreation.org or by calling (734) 675‑2364.
Harvest Fest is set for Oct. 18 from 1 to 4 p.m.; staff announced an admission structure and said each paid person receives a pumpkin, and that activities will include a hay ride, pumpkin patch, live music, games, vendors and food trucks.
The Halloween Dance will move to the middle school to accommodate a larger combined elementary population; the commission noted this year’s dance will serve kindergarten through fifth grade depending on gym availability. Trick‑or‑treating and a parade on Macomb Street will follow Oct. 25 with parade lineup at Grove Hill High School at 10:15 a.m.
Commission staff urged early registration where fees apply and said more information about holiday events will be announced in October.
