Jamieson said the purchase is being advanced through a partnership with multiple community organizations and that a private landowner has offered the parcel on what Jamieson described as a “very generous” basis.
Commissioners also noted that the Recreation Commission expects to be involved in later decisions about specific playground equipment and layout. “When it comes down to choosing equipment...it will come back to us and this commission,” one commissioner said during the meeting.
