Zoning Board of Appeals moves regular meeting time to 7 p.m.

The Grosse Ile Zoning Board of Appeals voted unanimously on Aug. 26 to change its regular meeting start time from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The change followed a brief discussion after the appeal hearing when Board member Mills asked the board to reestablish its meeting time because several members said they had difficulty arriving by 6 p.m. Mills said recent meetings had been difficult to attend on time given work schedules. One board member noted the Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m., and several members said aligning the start times would be helpful.
Board member John moved to change the meeting time to 7 p.m.; another board member seconded the motion and the board approved it by unanimous voice vote. The board chair confirmed the change and told staff: "It'll be 07:00 from now on, Brian."
The board did not alter meeting location or other procedural rules; members noted the change should ease scheduling conflicts for board members who work in city government or other jobs with evening responsibilities.
The board also reminded members and the public that standard agenda procedures and public-comment rules remain in effect. The new 7 p.m. start time applies to future regular meetings unless the board votes otherwise.
