Timberlake homeowners ask Roselle to consider taking over Timberleaf Circle roadway

Representatives of the Timberlake homeowners association told the Village of Roselle on Aug. 25 that they would like the village to consider taking ownership of Timberleaf Circle, a private roadway that begins and ends on Rodenburg Road. "We are members of a board of, homeowners association. We represent the Timberlake town owned community located off of Roseburg. We are interested in starting a conversation with the village of Roselle for, regarding the driveway, the roadway that starts on Rodenburg and ends on Rodenburg. It's called Timberleaf Circle," the group said during the public-comment period.

Mayor Blassett told the group to provide contact information to the village administrator so staff could reach out. The mayor said the development was approved under the condition that the roadway remain private and that a change would require discussion. "So it's not that it's unlikely, but we'd have to discuss it, and it was just approved a couple years ago. So for that to be a change, we'd have to kinda figure out how that would, occur from that side of things," the mayor said.

Discussion: the exchange was limited to public comment and a short staff response; no board action was taken at the meeting.

Direction: village staff were asked to collect contact information from the homeowners' representatives and to follow up with them to discuss options and next steps.

Ending: The board did not vote or set a study session; the matter was referred to staff for further conversation with the homeowners' association.
