City staff asked the council to release the remaining two bonds for the Clover Ridge subdivision, totaling $13,007.94 and $36,007.84. Staff said that most infrastructure and site work had been completed and that the city withheld funds for parkway trees that were not in acceptable condition. The developer agreed to plant replacement trees in the appropriate fall planting season.
Lance explained the city would retain a remaining warranty bond that would be effective for one year after the new trees are planted; if the new trees fail to establish, the city would have security to require replacements or corrective work. "We have worked with the developer. They will be planting new trees for those that we agreed need to be replaced, in the appropriate planting season during the fall. And so we are requesting release of the rest of it. We will still have a bond, that will be good for a year from the date that those are are replaced, if they do not end up taking," Lance said.
The item was placed on consent and approved by the council without further debate. Staff indicated next steps are to confirm the tree planting schedule and maintain the remaining warranty bond for one year.
