The council approved an intergovernmental reciprocal reporting agreement between the City of Lockport and Will County School District 92 that authorizes the Lockport Police Department and the school district to share information about possible crimes or alleged crimes involving students. City staff member Ben introduced the agreement and said several statutes and the student-records act require a reporting arrangement between school districts and law-enforcement agencies.

Ben said the agreement mirrors similar arrangements the city has with other schools and that District 92 requested the city execute a separate agreement because each school district is a separate government that needs its own signed agreement on file. "This would be approving resolution 25 0 65, approving the agreement that's in your packet with District 92, and the City of Lockport for Lockport's Police Department," Ben said.

The item was placed on the consent agenda and approved along with other consent items (meeting minutes, payroll and bills) by roll call. The council moved the consent agenda and voted in favor without further debate; the clerk conducted a roll-call vote to record approval of the consent items.
