Public works staff told the Committee of the Whole on Aug. 26 that the city’s 2025 oil-and-chip bid opening was scheduled for the following day and that bid results would be returned to the council for approval.
Because the bid opening had not yet occurred, staff did not include the bid tabulation in the committee packet. The committee placed a general “approval of the bid” item on the regular agenda so the council could consider the lowest responsive bidder once staff returns with the tabulation. Staff asked council members to review the bid materials when they are circulated and to raise questions before next week’s meeting to avoid delaying the work.
No formal award or contract authorization occurred at the committee meeting; final award will require council action after review of bid results.
