Committee to place Illinois Highway Code resolution to close out 2009 MFT project on council agenda

City staff told the Committee of the Whole on Aug. 26 that a resolution under the Illinois Highway Code is needed to finalize an older project dating to February 2009 and to balance the city’s Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) accounts.
Staff said closing the project is a paperwork matter to allow the state to close out the program and that it would not result in additional local costs. The committee asked questions of staff, who indicated the resolution was procedural and related only to documentation needed to finalize the account reconciliation.
Committee members placed the resolution on the regular council agenda for formal action. No vote on the resolution was taken at the committee meeting; final approval will occur at the council meeting if members vote to adopt the resolution.
