At the public-comment portion of the Sept. 2 meeting, Susan Huang, speaking on behalf of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce executive board, updated the council on recent and upcoming Chamber events. She said the July art fair attracted 136 artists and that participants came from 19 states, including Arizona, Texas and Utah.
Huang promoted the upcoming Festival of the Vine, noting setup had begun and that the festival runs Friday through Sunday with a noon Friday opening and a 4:30 p.m. Sunday close. She said the festival includes about 14 restaurants and chefs offering sample-size dishes, live music, a kids area, a craft show, carriage rides and vendors, and that the Chamber is hosting a wine-tasting area. She thanked the city for being a presenting sponsor and urged volunteers to sign up via the Chamber website.
Huang also invited council members to the Kane County State of the County breakfast on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 a.m. at Eagle Brook Country Club and reminded interested attendees to register on the Chamber website.
