The Village Board approved a proposal from engineering firm HR Green to complete a facilities plan for the village’s wastewater treatment plant, a step trustees and staff said is necessary to move long‑term planning forward after the village acquired property for plant expansion.
Trustee Mason made the motion to approve the HR Green proposal and Trustee Fialco seconded. Supporters said the study is needed to avoid years of delay and to define next steps for treatment capacity, costs and permitting. Trustee Bianco and others thanked the village engineering staff for preparing background materials and said the project should proceed without unnecessary delay.
The roll call on the proposal recorded unanimous support among trustees present; the motion carried.
Why it matters: the facilities plan will develop technical alternatives, cost estimates, and a schedule that the village will use to evaluate capital needs, secure permits and approach financing.
Ending: staff said they will proceed with HR Green and return to the board with the facilities plan milestones and expected cost schedule.
