City staff told the Boonville City Council on April 7 that a dangerous-buildings hearing is scheduled for properties at 808 and 810 Third Street and that negotiations are ongoing with the property owner's attorney.
Brett (identified in the meeting) said the owner also owns 308 Spruce Street, a property on which the city had already entered a default judgment and declared the building dangerous. Staff said their goal is to negotiate a consent-based repair plan that would abate nuisances immediately and allow the owner to complete repairs, avoiding the need for the city to expend funds to demolish or raze structures.
The council scheduled the hearing but was advised the parties remain in discussions to resolve the matter by consent. No formal action on the properties was recorded at the April 7 meeting; staff indicated the hearing would remain on the calendar while negotiations continue.
