The Boonville City Council on April 7 approved consent agenda items that included funding for Change Ridge parking-lot improvements and payment application No. 2 for barracks work at Kemper Park.
Council and staff discussed the status of abatement work connected to the Kemper Park barracks project. Staff said contractors have completed “loose abatement” — removal of interior material — on some buildings and that exterior demolition and additional work remain. Staff reported the overall project budget is $1,200,000 and that roughly $100,000 has been spent to date; the remaining work will proceed in consultation with the developer and is expected to continue in phases.
A councilmember asked whether the contractor was working on the buildings simultaneously or sequentially; staff responded that work moved from building A to building D and that exterior work would be coordinated with the developer. The council approved the consent items by motion, second and voice/roll action recorded in the meeting.
