New council member sworn in; Andrew Howard elected mayor pro tem
Summary
Following the council's acceptance of election results, the council swore in the newly elected councilman and elected Andrew Howard as mayor pro tem by show of hands.
After the council adopted the ordinance accepting election results, the newly elected council member, Tanner, was sworn into office at the April 15 meeting.
City Clerk Amber administered the oath. In the swearing-in portion of the meeting the new council member repeated the oath: “I do solemnly swear that I possess all the Constitution of The United States and of the state of Missouri the provisions of all laws of this state affecting cities the ordinances of said city and faithfully demean myself in the office of which I have been elected of the city of Boonville, Missouri.” The council then recessed formal business to continue with seating and other items.
The council also elected a mayor pro tem. The floor was opened for nominations and councilmember Andrew Howard was nominated and received a unanimous show of hands from the members present. The council confirmed the nomination and Howard accepted the role as mayor pro tem.
