The Boonville City Council on May 19 approved a resolution authorizing an agreement with CL Richardson Construction Company for the city’s 2025 water and sewer improvements project.
The resolution (R-2025-10, on the council agenda) authorizes the city administrator and city clerk to execute the contract after the city determined CL Richardson represented the best bid pursuant to the city’s purchasing code (section 2-20), according to the resolution text read at the meeting.
Council discussion at the meeting described the work as a substantial sewer and water project affecting sections of Fourth Street, Poplar South, South Sixth and the Jefferson Road extension; council members said the contract includes roadway overlay work after utility installation. A council member asked about timing; staff indicated the work is scheduled for the fall. One councilmember said of the contractor, “they’re a good company,” based on prior experience with the firm.
A motion to pass the resolution was made and seconded and the council approved it by roll call. The resolution takes effect upon passage, and the city administrator and city clerk were authorized to execute the agreement.
