Council members approved both consent items on a motion and second during the consent portion of the meeting; a roll call taken later showed affirmative votes recorded for the council.
City staff said the abatement work is roughly 70% complete and that contractors have sealed affected areas during abatement. "This is we're 70% of the way through the pay app, so we're approximately 70% of the way through the project," a staff speaker said, adding that the city expects a timeline and completion date from Spectrum shortly.
Councilmembers asked how long the project will last and whether follow-up work with developers (for paint abatement and repainting) would be coordinated to avoid duplicate effort. City staff said remaining work will be coordinated with the developer where possible.
The consent vote bundled multiple pay applications; the council did not discuss a separate ordinance or long-term financing for the abatement during the meeting.
