The Brentwood Board of Aldermen on May 19 voted 6‑0 to approve a resolution authorizing the city to enter into a contract with MACC to provide grass and weeds abatement services.
Whitney, the city attorney, told the board MACC responded to the city's request for proposals for grass and weeds abatement; the response included pricing, licensing documentation and references. Whitney said staff received positive recommendations from two references and were awaiting a third.
The city attorney described the costs as provided in MACC's RFP response, noting figures in the staff presentation (transcript lists amounts of $150 and $350 in the vendor response); staff said equipment use and staff time are included in the price structure attached to the RFP. The board's motion to approve the resolution was seconded, and a roll call vote recorded unanimous approval: Aldermen Plovka, (G)oad/Gold, Sims, Lochmiller, Gould and Harder voted yes.
The city attorney said MACC is licensed and has worked in other municipalities in the metro area and that the contract award is within the pricing presented in the RFP. The board did not amend the resolution at the meeting; staff will proceed with contract execution under the terms described in the RFP and the resolution.
The board treated the item as a resolution (no ordinance reading required) and recorded the approval by roll call.
Members of the public did not raise questions during the discussion, and no additional cost breakdown or long‑term contracting commitments were discussed in the meeting record.
