Maplewood council certifies April 8 election results, honors outgoing member and swears in new council members

The Maplewood City Council on April 22 adopted Resolution 25-15 certifying the results of the general municipal election held April 8 for council members in Wards 1, 2 and 3.

Later in the meeting the council adopted Resolution 25-16, a formal recognition thanking Matt Correll for two years of service as council member for Ward 1. The resolution text commended Correll for his service on the design and review board, his advocacy for residents and his contributions to the council. During the roll call on that item Correll said, "I think I have to abstain," and the transcript records an abstention for him on that resolution; other council members voted yes.

The council recessed to allow a swearing-in ceremony for newly elected members. The oath of office was administered and repeated by the incoming members; the transcript records the oath spoken publicly for C. Wiley, Nicholas Homa and Eric Page, each of whom affirmed support for the U.S. and Missouri constitutions and the charter and ordinances of the City of Maplewood.
