The Maplewood City Council on May 27 approved Resolution 25-19 authorizing the city manager to enter into an agreement with SWT Design for the Yale Park improvement project.
City staff told the council no design work has started; preliminary design and refinements will begin once the contract is executed. Staff said SWT Design will meet with the public “sometime in the near future” as part of the park master-plan process.
The resolution passed by unanimous roll call vote. Council members asked how far along design work was; staff answered that the refinement had not started and that public engagement is planned during the design phase.
Implementation steps recorded at the meeting include executing the contract, initiating preliminary design under the park master plan and scheduling public meetings to gather input on the project.
