The Oak Grove Board of Aldermen on Aug. 18 approved staff to apply for the Missouri Department of Transportation Traffic Engineering Assistance Program (TEEP) grant to study safety and operations on Broadway between Fourth and Fifth streets.
Planning staff member Matt told the board TEEP provides professional traffic engineering studies to address safety and operational concerns and that $120,000 is available statewide for the program, with individual projects eligible for up to $12,000 in reimbursable funds. Staff proposed applying for a $15,000 project; if fully funded, the grant would reimburse $12,000 and the city’s local match would be $3,000.
Matt said the study would examine corridor and intersection safety, potential signal updates, ADA sidewalk needs and alignment issues at the signalized intersection. The board noted Broadway is a high‑traffic area and supported seeking engineering assistance. If selected, the work would be conducted by a preapproved engineer from MoDOT’s list and the study is expected to be completed by May following award in September.
Aldermen voted to approve the grant application by voice vote.
