The Greene County Board of Commissioners on July 3 awarded a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) home-repair contract for work at 2146 Maryland Drive in Xenia to Acorn Construction for their low bid of $23,850.

County staff said the project includes replacement of a sewer service lateral and an HVAC replacement at the property. Staff reported receiving two bids and recommended awarding the project to Acorn Construction as the lowest and best bidder.

A commissioner noted a "big difference" between the two bids during the meeting; no further challenge to the award was recorded. The board voted to award the contract and the action was recorded as approved during the meeting.

The work will be funded through CDBG home-repair program funds and carried out according to the program requirements; staff did not provide a project schedule during the public session.
