The Olivette Planning & Community Development Commission voted unanimously on two separate petitions at its April 3 meeting and continued several other items for additional submittals and neighborhood consultation.
The commission approved a request from Carrollton Bank for a second monument sign at 9360 Diehlman Industrial Drive. Joe Phillips of Piro Signs described the proposed brick sign as a routed aluminum‑panel sign with illuminated lettering, roughly 25 square feet in area and just under 5 feet tall. Commissioner Sam Wallach moved approval; Commissioner Tim Spiegelglass seconded. The roll call recorded votes of approval by Commissioners Glass, Ragsdale, Powell, Wallach, Lewis and Durge; the motion passed 6–0.
The commission also approved a site plan, community design and concept stormwater review for a new single‑family home at 9609 Ashmont Drive. Developer Ryan Weber and his team confirmed roofing will be asphalt shingles consistent with the neighborhood; staff noted a driveway‑slope concern (shown at 15 percent on plans) that the petitioner agreed to address with public works before permitting. Commissioner Brian Lewis moved approval; Commissioner Tim Spiegelglass seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Other items on the agenda were discussed but not decided. The commission continued detailed review and requested additional drawings and neighbor‑view cross sections for the accessory‑structure petition at 820 North Price Road. A petition for a new home at 15 Bon Air Drive was deferred so the subdivision trustees could complete their review; staff emphasized the applicant’s willingness to wait for the trustees’ upcoming meeting.
