City manager: Olive Crossing work to start mid-April; retail, hotel and apartments progressing

City Manager Jennifer Jackley told the Olivette City Council on April 8 that preliminary work is underway at Olive Crossing and that main construction for Lot 3, a multi-tenant retail site, should begin in mid-April.
Jackley said Lot 3 will house tenants including Brass Taps and Paris Baguette and that construction of the public plaza and a detention basin adjacent to the Interstate 170 ramp are part of the Lot 3 work. She said Lot 5 (office) had no new update and that Lot 6 (the hotel) is working with O'Reilly Hospitality on financing. Jackley also reported that Lots 1 and 2 (Aldi) are complete and that internal stop signs were installed to address traffic flow. Lot 4, the apartment complex, was 90 percent leased and 85 percent occupied as of February.
Jackley asked the council and the public to watch for upcoming events tied to the development and other city initiatives and confirmed the project timeline she said had been reported to council previously by Mr. Yawitz.
No council action was taken on Olive Crossing at the April 8 meeting; the report was informational.
