Olivette authorizes $12,000 to replace park restroom doors at Villa and Irvside parks

She said the city budgeted the project through the capital improvement program and recommended purchasing fabricated steel doors expected to last longer than the current hollow‑core units.
Knight said the cost to replace the doors is $12,000 and that the recommended vendor is Edelen Door and Window. A council member asked whether the new doors would last longer; Knight responded the new steel doors are “stronger” and should reduce maintenance issues for staff and police officers who lock and unlock the facilities.
The council moved, seconded and approved the purchase by unanimous poll.
