Public works staff reported that the city's Surface Transportation Program (STP) grant application for Price Road, between Delmar Boulevard and Old Bonhom Road, did not receive funding after scoring 90.5 out of a possible 102 points; the funding cutoff was 93 points.
Staff said East-West Gateway has not yet officially made award decisions and that once awards are posted a public works representative (Bruce) will meet with East-West Gateway to identify where the city's application could be improved for a future submission. "We scored 90 and a half out of a 102, and they stopped funding at 93 points. So we were very, very close," staff said.
Public works also reported progress on Grandview (center-line and stop-bar striping expected if weather allows) and other maintenance activities. Staff indicated intent to resubmit the Price Road application in a future year after follow-up with East-West Gateway.
No council action was requested or taken on the STP application at the meeting; staff described this as an informational update.
