The City of Olivet on Aug. 12 authorized Parks and Recreation to purchase youth soccer uniforms for the 2025 season from Score Sports for an amount not to exceed $14,360.
Parks Director Beverly Tucker Knight told the council the department received eight proposals and disqualified four; of the four qualified bidders the department chose Score Sports for higher-quality jerseys and for a fulfillment process that packages uniforms by team with rosters and named sizes. ‘‘We have over 1,100’’ players registered this year, Tucker Knight said; the department expects to order roughly 850 uniforms (some teams and outside-school teams supply their own uniforms) and 755 pairs of socks and will place a secondary order if needed.
Tucker Knight said higher-quality jerseys increase wear and community visibility and reduce staff time because Score Sports bundles items by team. Council members approved the purchase unanimously.
The cost is covered by registration fees; staff said uniforms will arrive before the season begins and the purchase order is ready pending council approval.
